Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohd Nizom Sairi is a distinguished Malaysian tax administration leader and former Chief Executive Officer of the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM, 2021–2023), with nearly 40 years of service driving record revenue collections. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Lawrence Technological University, USA, and a PhD from the Swiss School of Management (2022). Starting his career at IRBM in 1985, he advanced through key roles including Director of Compliance, Investigation, Malaysian Tax Academy, State Director of Perak, and Deputy CEO for Management and Tax Operations. Under his leadership, IRBM achieved peak revenue in 2022 and 2023, while promoting voluntary compliance and stakeholder partnerships. Internationally, he chaired the Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrators (CATA, 2021–2024) and led the Association of Tax Authorities of Islamic Countries (ATAIC) Executive Council. Post-retirement, he serves as Chairman of BAT Malaysia (from 2026) and Independent Director on multiple boards.
