He is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Universiti Sains Malaysia, as well as a Visiting Consultant at Kota Bharu Medical Centre (KBMC) and KPJ Perdana Hospital. He was awarded an MBBS in Medicine and Surgery from Universiti Malaya (1994) and a Master of Medicine in Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery (MMED ORL-HNS)  from Universiti Sains Malaysia (2002).  He served as an Honorary Visiting Scholar at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, an Asian Surgical Association Clinical Fellow at the University of Hong Kong, and a Rhinology and Endoscopic Sinus Surgery Fellow at the University of Graz in Austria. He sits on the editorial boards of prominent medical journals. He has presented numerous scientific studies and papers at the national and international levels, and he has published extensively in the fields of allergies, rhinology, and skull base surgery in numerous peer-reviewed expert journals.  He has made important contributions to the success of symposiums and workshops held at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), as well as other national and international symposiums, congresses, and workshops. He formerly served as President of the Malaysian Society of Allergy and Immunology (MSAI).
